SWC Conference Champs Gymnastics 2015

Members of the Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton gymnastics team were crowned SWC Conference Champions Friday night at Southwestern.  The team scored 133.575 points while the second place team scored 129.825.  The team will travel to Mt. Horeb on Saturday, February 28th to compete in Sectionals beginning at 11:00 AM.  Good Luck Ladies!

Superintendent Search Beginning

Dr. Mary DeYoung with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards will be helping Southwestern with our Superintendent search.  She would like to meet with multiple focus groups to develop a profile of candidates for this position prior to the special board meeting scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2015.  Interested individuals should plan to meet at one of the following times:  from 4-5P.M. - Certified Staff,  5-6 P.M. - Support Staff, and 6-7 P.M. - Community members, including booster club, PTO, and music parents.  Please come to the elementary library on Monday, February 23rd at the appropriate time if you are interested in being part of a focus group.

Live broadcast of Boscobel/SW basketball game TONIGHT!

CESA #3 is providing a live stream (as a pilot test) of the boys basketball tonight between Boscobel and Southwestern.  It is part of the "Buckets for Briar" game dedication.  The live stream link is posted on Boscobel's web page at:  www.boscobel.k12.wi.us They will be broadcasting both the JV and Varsity games.  Thank you CESA #3!

It’s time for the student council’s annual Wildcat Spirit Wear Sale!  Proceeds from this sale benefit the Wildcat Fund, a fund established to help families in our district who experience a life changing loss or event. Lady Wildcats are State-Bound

Southwestern's Varsity Volleyball team has clinched a birth in the Division 4 State Tournament. The Lady Wildcats beat the Panthers from Royall in 3 sets (25-21, 25-19, and 25-14) on Saturday at Onalaska Luther. The team will be leaving Thursday following a 9:30 a.m. pep assembly in the high school gym. The Lady Wildcats will take on Hilbert on Friday morning @ 10:00 at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Advanced tickets are available in the high school office for $8.00. There will be NO school on Friday, November 7th as a result of the state volleyball tournament. Parent/teacher conferences have been moved to Thursday, Nov. 13th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 14th from 1:30-8:00 p.m. There will be NO conferences on November 6th and 7th. There will be an early release scheduled on Friday, November 14th. Best of luck to our Lady Wildcats! Very proud of you ladies!!!

State Track a Success

Michelle Budden and Carter Fleege represent Southwestern at the Wisconsin State High School Track and Field Championships.  Michelle advanced to LaCrosse in the high jump and finished the weekend in 4th place.  Carter advanced in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump finishing 4th, 7th, and 11th respectfully.  Southwestern is honored to have such terrific athletes withinour district.  Congratulations go out to Michelle and Carter.  It's a great day to be a Wildcat!
