The objectives and purpose of the Southwestern High School as developed by the Administrative Team and faculty are as follows:
- Work with the home and community to develop ethical character, foster better human relations and international understandings, and to provide opportunities for the best possible development of the individual.
- Provide the student with an opportunity for increased skill, proficiency and general subject matter understanding, plus the opportunity to transfer basic knowledge to new situations requiring critical analysis and thought. This should help the student to recognize, understand, meet and solve present problems, and give them the insights and techniques necessary to solve problems.
- Increase the student’s chances for experience in participatory democracy through involvement and observation.
- Help the student grow in self-guidance and maturity, thereby, increasing their social productivity in their school and in their life.
- Improve the basic skills, knowledge, and understanding of all students by providing meaningful opportunity at all intellectual and interest levels, in the academic, as well as, in the vocational areas.
- Help the student develop a more wholesome self-concept including a sense of responsibility, in curricular and extracurricular situations.
